Hello! Im so delighted you've come to take a look at my portfolio.

I'm Lia Sims, an East Bay photographer specializing in thoughtful, creative, natural light portrait and small gathering photos. I create images that are artistic, cinematic, and emotionally real.

I’ve been tinkering with cameras for 18 years and have spent the last 3 years using them professionally.

Photography is also in my roots! It was passed down to me through my father. I spent many days in his photo studio as a child, thanks dad!

My official training started in my junior year of high school in a 35mm film class. We even developed and printed our own work! I followed that with a digital photography plus Photoshop fundamentals, then moved onto intermediate film and intermediate digital at Ventura College. Since then, I’ve continued building my craft through YouTube, as well as a self paced online course called  Rise Academy, taught by Dawn Charles.

What it’s like working with me: collaborative, methodical, supportive, candid, creative, lightly guided, and playful. I’ll give simple direction and easy prompts so you can relax, move, actually enjoy yourself. My goal is for you to look like you, just more open, more alive, and more YOU than usual.
